The university's College of Nursing was created in 1974 and has
since enjoyed the reputation as one of the best schools of nursing
in the region. It has started with the offering of the standard nursing
curriculum but has since branched to a graduate program in nursing
and a nursing curriculum as a second course.
Vision:
The College of Nursing is committed to provide quality education
that will harness the maximum potentials of the learner; develop
a person who is caring, responsible, nationalistic, aware of global
concerns, creative and a critical thinking nurse - generalist; develop
a person who assumes responsibilities for personal and professional
growth; inculcate ethico - legal, moral and spiritual values.
Mission:
The nursing curriculum is geared toward community-centered nursing
with emphasis on Primary Health care for the promotion of health
and the prevention of illness, developing leadership, program management,
effective communication and community organization.
