The College of Home Economics

The university's College of Home Economics was created as a separate
college from the then College of Arts and Sciences in 1981. Since
then, it has expanded its curricular offerings in home economics,
dietetics and food technology as pure disciplines.
Vision:
An educational community developing professionals of competence,
initiative and dignity through the promotion of academic excellence,
enhancement of family values and responsible participation in the
attainment of progress for the city, region and nation.
Mission:
To equip the students with knowledge and skills that will make them
productive citizens and to enable them to perform effectively in
their chosen career.
To discover educational trends and emerging themes relevant to the
needs and challenges of the time particularly in the field of Home
Economics, Food Science and Nutrition where innovations will directly
benefit mankind.
To train and assist individuals and families in using available
resources meet the needs of their respective communities and
thus help improve
their living conditions.
To conduct production schemes that will augment meager college
resources utilizing faculty and student manpower which would
serve.
