Training for Unemployed Alumni (1st Batch)
The first move towards enhancing capability of unemployed graduates on technical as well as entrepreneurial management skills. The said training is aimed at renewing direction of graduates to venture into entrepreneurial activity that would enable them to make use of the training for self-employment endeavor.

TOT on Entrepreneurship (WMSU-CA)
The fourth TOT on Entrepreneurship was held on October 5 to 9, 2009 at the WMSU-CA Social Hall, it was attended by 13 WMSU faculties, four from CFES and nine from the College of Agriculture. The resource speakers were Engr. Danilo Fonollera, Prof. Florenchita Somblingo, and Prof. Arbaiya Abdula. Two management staff: Paterna J. Saavedra and Ritzi Umacob managed and supervised the training. A total of 18 participants. This TOT training was done to meet the target of 70 trainers on Entrepreneurship.

Enhancing the Demands of ZAMPEN SUCs AFNR Graduates Through Curriculum Intervention Using Modular Approach with High S and T Content
The project aims to enhance the employability of AFNR graduates among selected ZamPen SUCs and to increase enrollment and participation to AFNR courses by providing curricular interventions that integrate strong S & T and entreprneurial skills development among both educators and students that are practically needed in the industry thereby enrsuring strong interface and linkage between academe and the industry sector
Project components and corresponding proposed budgets are broken down as follows:
Enhancement os student learning through module development, which involves the production of 10 modules (5 modules on technologies and 4 modules on entrepreneurship on banner-commodities of Region IX) and training module for educators for the integration of the modules to existing curricula. This will benefit at least 300 students from two campuses of WMSU; two campuses of JRMSC and ZSCMST.
Capability enhancement for faculty will involve training for preparation of modules and enhancement of laboratory manuals to be participated by 70 faculty members from three SUCs (WMSU, JRMSC, and ZSCMST). Included in this component are educational visits to model institutions on entrepreneurship to gain added insights needed for the development of the module.
Facilities upgrading involves renovation and upgrading/acquisition of laboratory facilities and equipment in production and processing activities related to the three commodities (coconut, rubber, tissue cultured seedlings, and seaweeds). This will include renovation and acquisition of training facilities.
Short-term training courses for AFNR students and unemployed graduates. This component will involve at least 250 students and unemployed graduates in four campuses of WMSU and JRMSC. |
