 Inception Meeting
The inception Meeting of DOST-PCAFRRD –WMSU Program on “Enhancing the Demand for Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resources (AFNR) Graduates through Science and Technology for Project 2 (Institutional Capability Enhancement) and Pre-inception Meeting for project 3.1 (Support to IGP & DAT-BED) was formally launched on February 09, 2009 at the Diamond Room, Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City. This was participated in by ZAMPEN SUC’s, representatives from WMSU College of Agriculture and Dumingag and other partner SUC’s constituting the two campuses of JRMSC ,Tampilisan Campus and KNAS campus at Zamboanga Del Norte who are closely collaborating with WMSU in the implementation of this project. The AFNR Project 2 for Institutional Capability Enhancement has three components, first on, Enhancement of Student Through Modular Training; second, Capability building of faculty and specialists; and third, Facilities Upgrading and Establishment of Demonstration Enterprises. The aforesaid meeting was attended by WMSU Officials and AFNR team members headed by WMSU President Dr. Grace J. Rebollos, the Over –all Program Implementer, and WMSU’s Deans and Directors to mention a few; Dr. Teresita A. Narvaez, the Dean College of Agriculture, Project 1 Leader, Dr. Chona Q. Sarmiento, the Dean of Research and Leader, Project 2, Dr. Frede Moreno, Director Planning and Budget, at the same time the Leader, Project 3. Mayor Celso L. Lobragat was likewise present to grace the occasion. The meeting was highlighted by the presence of PCAFRRD’s key personnel the AFNR National Project Leader, Dr. Albert Aquino Director, Socio-Economics Division PCARRD, Dr. Melvin Carlos AFNR National Project Leader, Mr. Tom Cambagay AFNR Assistant Project Leader, and Mr. Richard Daite PCARRD Socio-Economics Staff.
