Immersion of Coco-Sugar Processing Trainors at PCA

Three WMSU-CA Faculty on a Four-day Immersion Training on Coco-Sugar Processing
Three faculty of the WMSU, College of Agriculture, who were designated as Coco-SUgar trainors/Coordinators for Project 2, namely; Dr. Rafael T. Baguio, Prof. Concesa J. Mangaya-ay, and Prof. Ritzi I. Umacob, underwent a four-day training on coco-sugar processing from , April 21 to 24, 2009 at the Philippine Coconut Authority, Zamboanga Research Center, San Ramon, Zamboanga City under the supervision of Mr. Ramon Rivera, PCA’s Chief of the Genetics and Breeding Section. The training was to equip the trainers with the knowledge and skills on Coco-Sugar Processing technology in preparation for the training of trainors in the AFNR ZAMPEN SUC’s participants. This was the first result of the collaborative ventures between the two institutions where, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between WMSU and PCA-ZRC, in which WMSU represented by President, Dr. Grace J. Rebollos and PCA-ZRC by Gerardo “Jerry” Baylon last March 27, 2008 at the Conference Room, Office of the WMSU President.
